Peter Andrea creates new relationships between disparate and discarded objects. Foraged wooden panels form the basis for his constructions. Scavenged objects, divorced from their original utility, often inform the addition of finishes, or subtraction of surface. Inspired by 20th century design, he works to meld or contrast organic geometry with the precision of cast-off, manufactured goods.
Peter moved to the Bay Area from Vermont in 1990 to study graphic design at California College of Arts and Crafts after attaining a degree in Fine Art from University of Vermont. He has participated in numerous solo and group shows and his artwork has been published in Sunset Magazine.
