DARREN SEARS
ABOUT DARREN SEARS
Darren Sears
b. 1977
With a professional background in landscape architecture, Sears views the world as a series of spatial maps. Sears designs and paints his personal vision of the natural environment through the coupling of digital collage and memories of his travels. His paintings represent a wider geography than could be experienced from any single moment or vantage point.
While working towards a BA in Human Biology at Stanford University, Sears also studied ecology and conservation in Madagascar through a study abroad program. He earned his Masters in Landscape Architecture at Harvard University and has completed residencies in Laugarvatn, Iceland, and on Flinders Island in Australia. He now lives and works in San Francisco.
