At Hang Art, we want you to be certain you love the artwork you select. From the boardroom to the bedroom, renting from Hang Art lets you live with original artworks by San Francisco Bay Area artists before making the commitment to own. Although you can rent a work of art for as many three-month rental terms as you like, you also have the option to purchase at the end of each rental term. Hang Art will apply 50% of the total rental fees you paid for a particular piece towards its purchase.

You can rent artworks from Hang Art for one to as many three-month terms as you wish, or return the art after just one. Hang Art does not limit the number of terms available to you or charge additional subscription fees on top of the rental price

Our quarterly rental fees are approximately 12% of an artwork's purchase price, and the fee of your artwork rental will never fluctuate between terms. Check out the rental fee chart below, or download your own copy here [PDF]

After initiating a new rental, you have a week to apply 100% of an artwork's rental fee (including sales tax) toward its purchase

At the end of your three-month rental term, you can choose to renew for another term, return the piece back to the gallery, or purchase the artwork. Hang Art will apply 50% of the total rental fees you paid for a particular piece towards its purchase. And, if you rented more than one artwork, you can make individual choices for each individual artwork. On a rental with four artworks, for example, you can renew two, return one, and purchase the other.

We keep track of your rental so you don't have to. When your term is drawing to a close, an art consultant will contact you with a friendly reminder. We are happy to calculate your current purchase price less your accrued rental credit, or we can simply automatically renew.

With the added bonus of earning rental credit with each term, you can eventually own the artwork if you rent it long enough.

While we love our fans from across the world, artwork rentals are only available to businesses and individuals within the San Francisco Bay Area. We define the San Francisco Bay Area as the counties that border the bay including San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Mateo, and northern Santa Clara counties.

The vast majority of our 1,000+ artwork inventory is available for rental seven days a week. However, there are some exceptions such as fragile and delicate artwork. Additionally, the artwork featured in our curated monthly exhibitions that run from the 1st to 15th are not available for rental until after the exhibition ends. Finally, the works by Hang Art Projects artists are only available for purchase.

To start a new rental all we require is a valid California Drivers License or ID, a authorized credit card, and a signed Rental Agreement. The entire process only takes a few minutes. You can walk out the door with your new artwork or have it delivered by one of our recommended third party art handlers.
