RANDY DIXON
ABOUT RANDY DIXON
Randy Dixon
b. 1951
Randy Dixon’s sculptures are explorations of the meanings we attach to architectural elements. He’s inspired to use architecture as a metaphor for deeper study of the human interior and psychological space. The building becomes the structure of our being.
Dixon was born in Missouri and went on to earn a Masters of Architecture from the University of Illinois and MS in Painting from Illinois State University. He then moved to California to attend California College of the Arts and attained an MFA in Painting. He has taught art and architecture at UC Berkeley Extension and Illinois State University. Dixon maintains a studio and lives in Oakland.
